To The Least of These

This message confronts us with a powerful question: are we living as sewers or springs? In a culture that constantly tells us to accumulate, store up, and live for ourselves, we're challenged with the radical call of Jesus to serve 'the least of these.' Drawing from Matthew 25's profound teaching about the sheep and the goats, we discover that our eternal destiny is intimately connected to how we treat those society overlooks—the hungry, the stranger, the sick, the imprisoned. What's striking is that Jesus doesn't present this as works-based salvation, but as the natural evidence of a transformed heart. When we truly grasp what Christ did for us on the cross, when we realize we were once the 'least of these' whom Jesus reached down to save, something shifts inside us. We become springs of living water, overflowing with compassion for others. The message calls us beyond comfortable Christianity into practical action: starting food banks, visiting hospitals, serving in prisons, helping with car repairs, responding to disasters. These aren't burdensome obligations but joyful responses to grace. The challenge isn't to earn God's love but to live out of gratitude for the love we've already received. As we fast, pray, and give ourselves away, we discover a counterintuitive truth: we find our lives by losing them in service to others.
